I had read a lot about PRP treatment in New Rochelle, NY, and I knew that I wanted to try it. I liked the idea of using my own blood to not only promote my own healing but to speed it up too. I would have never thought a process like this even existed, but I was also very thankful that it does. The FDA has not approved it as a treatment plan that is widely accepted by insurance companies, but I don’t think most people who want to see if it works would care about that.
I had read all about the possible side effects of the PRP treatment, and I was more than willing to accept the risks. To me, they are extremely minimal. There really should not be any type of allergic reaction because it is my own blood that is being used. This is blood that has come just from my body, not from anyone else’s body. That alone means an allergic reaction should just about be nonexistent. I knew that there were still possible side effects such as infection though, but that is true for just about any type of medical treatment around today.
I made sure that I not only read about the risks, but I also talked to the doctor who would be performing this treatment on me. He went over the various things that could happen, like pain and damage to tissue, but he also said that it is the exception rather than the norm. I was already experiencing pain on a daily basis because of an old sports injury, so I decided I really had nothing to lose. Well, I was wrong because I did lose something after I went through a couple of treatments. The pain was gone, and that is something that I can definitely live with!
